All Indians trapped inside a Mali hotel had been evacuated by a joint team of UN, Mali and French soldiers on Friday, according to local TV Times Now.

Militants attacked the Radisson Blu Hotel in the Malian capital of Bamako earlier in the day, taking some 170 guests and hotel staff hostage, including 20 Indians. (India-Mali-Siege)

YANGON -- Myanmar's Union Election Commission released final results of the general election on Friday with the opposition National League for Democracy (NLD) securing 886 seats or 77.04 percent at three levels of the parliament.

The NLD garnered 255 seats in the House of Representatives, 135 in the House of Nationalities and 496 in the Region or State Parliament. (Myanmar-Election-Results)

KUALA LUMPUR -- Foreign ministers of the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on Friday highlighted ASEAN centrality and strong leadership in the bloc's development and its engagement with outside parties.

"The ASEAN centrality should remain at the core of all initiatives and ASEAN must provide strong leadership and map ASEAN's future directions collectively, especially in engagement with dialogue partners and other external parties," Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman, who chaired the 17th ASEAN Coordinating Meeting ahead of the leaders' summit, told the press. ISLAMABAD -- At least three Paramilitary troops were killed while stopping suspected militants from entering a mosque in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Friday, officials said.

Major General Bilal Akbar, director general of the paramilitary forces Rangers, said that the militants opened fire when the troops stopped them from entering the mosque, and fled the scene on their motorbikes. (Pakistan-Terror Plot) Endit
