Xinhua, November 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

Croatia would not allow in migrants not coming from war-torn countries following Slovenia, Serbia and Macedonia made the same decisions, Croatian Interior Minister Ranko Ostojic said on Thursday.

Those who came from Morocco, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Algeria, Liberia, Congo, Sudan and Pakistan would no longer be allowed to pass along the country, he said.

Ostojic said that "he had informed colleagues from Macedonia and Serbia that citizens of these countries will no longer be able to use this route."

"Otherwise we will have to treat them like illegal migrants," he added.

He also said Croatia would not receive 162 migrants who has arrived in Slovenia through Croatia and were sent back by Slovenia because they are not from countries that were affected by war.

"Croatia did not agree to their readmission because there has been no agreement on this aspect of the refugee crisis," Ostojic said.

In the last 24 hours, 5,180 refugees have arrived in Croatia, and since mid-September 416,915 have passed through the country on their way to western and northern Europe, according to interior ministry. Enditem
