5.3-magnitude earthquake hits central Nepal

A 5.3-magnitude earthquake jolted Nepal's Capital Kathmandu and adjoining districts on Thursday, Nepal's National Seismological Centre said.

The mild tremor struck at 10 a.m. local time (0415 GMT) with the epicenter at Sindhupalchowk District of Central Nepal. Sindhupalchowk is an adjoining district of the Nepali capital of Kathmandu.

Nepal was devastated by powerful earthquakes and aftershocks in April and May which claimed over 9,000 lives. Endit
