10 Taliban militants killed in S. Afghanistan

Ten Taliban militants, including two group commanders, have been killed in the southern Helmand province on Wednesday, police spokesman in the province Shah Mahmoud Ashna said.

"Taliban militants attacked some police checkpoints in Nad Ali district early Wednesday and security forces returned fire and so far 10 rebels including two group commanders have been killed," Ashna told Xinhua.

There were no casualties on security personnel, the official said.

Taliban militants who are active in parts of the restive Helmand province haven't commented on the latest clashes. Enditem
