The Myanmar government has lifted military administration order in Shan state's Kokang region as situation there has returned to normalcy and maintained calm, according to an order of the President's Office published Wednesday.

The lifting of the military administration order in the self-administered zone, once torn by armed clashes between the government forces and Kokang's Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), is effective from Tuesday.

The lifting of the order under state of emergency was announced in view of the return of normal administration, village tranquility and rule of law, the order said. Endit
