Bayern Munich's Alcantara ruled out for four weeks

Bayern midfielder Thiago Alcantara will be sidelined for three to four weeks after suffering a knee injury during his international duty, the German giants announced in an official statement on Tuesday.

The Spaniard had to be replaced during Spain's 2-0 victory over England last Friday. However, Bayern's worst fears were not confirmed as the club's doctor Volker Braun diagnosed Alcantara, who had a number of lengthy knee injuries, with a capsule injury in his right knee.

The midfielder will be out of action for three to four weeks to miss Bundesliga as well as UEFA Champions League encounters. He might return for the German Cup clash against Darmstadt on December 15.

The "Bavarians" sit atop the standings in German Bundesliga and face Schalke at the 13th round on November 21. Endit
