Around 5,000 people attended an anti-migration demonstration outside the Czech Government Office on Tuesday.
Most people took part in the demonstration left the site after 7:30 p.m. local time, but approximately 1,000 people were refusing to leave the area for more than one hour after the event officially ended, said Prague police spokesman Tomas Hulan.
A City Hall official called on them to disperse, but they did not obey and the police were asked to intervene, Hulan said.
Police took 12 people away from the crowd for they used banned burning and explosive devices. Hulan said similar behavior is usually handled as a misdemeanor.
The crowd dispersed after riot police pushed them to a safe area and divided them into two parts.
One person's eyes were hit with a pepper spray or a similar device, and he was taken to hospital by rescuers. Prague rescue service spokeswoman Jirina Ernestova said the injury was not serious, but his eyes were hit. Other three people were treated by rescuers on the spot. Endit
