Algeria stuns Tanzania 7-0 in World Cup qualifier

Xinhua, November 18, 2015 Adjust font size:

Algeria handed Tuesday Tanzania a humiliating 7-0 defeat in the second leg match of a 2018 Russia World Cup qualifier.

Unlike the 2-2 first leg match in Dar-Es-Salaam, "the Desert Warriors" left no chance to the "Taifa Stars", as Porto FC star Yacine Brahimi scored an early goal after 34 seconds of the match.

Napoli left wing Ghoulam added the second goal (23'), and then Leicester ace Ryad Mahrez added the third a couple of minutes before the end of the first half.

The Warriors continued domination in the second half, as four additional goals were scored, including two penalties from Sporting Lisbone striker Islam Slimani (48') and Ghoulam (58'). Carl Medjani Carl (71') and Slimani (78') completed the gala.

Algeria advances to the group stages of the qualifiers with five team to represent Africa at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Endit
