Singapore stocks close 0.04 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 1.05 points, or 0.04 percent, to close at 2,916.78.

A total of 1.36 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 893.7 million Singapore dollars (629.4 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 194 to 190, while 551 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 9.95 points, or 0.34 percent, to close at 2,915.73 on Monday. Enditem
