2 killed, 3 missing as boat overturns in central India

At least two persons have been killed and three others missing after a boat overturned in a dam in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, an official said Monday.

"The mishap happened in the back waters of Indira Sagar Dam in the state's Harda district Sunday when the boat carrying 14 people lost balance and overturned," he said, on condition of anonymity.

While two bodies have been fished out, three persons are still missing, the official said, adding others were rescued by personnel of the disaster response force.

A probe has been ordered into the incident, he said. Endit
