Afghan police kill 15 militants in 24 hours

Units of police backed by the army have killed 15 Taliban militants during series of operations across the militancy-ridden country over the past 24 hours, Ministry of Interior said in a statement released here on Saturday.

According to the statement, four more militants have been captured during the operations which conducted in Nangarhar, Baghlan, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Kandahar, Oruzgan, Herat and Helmand provinces.

The statement, however, didn't say if there were casualties on security personnel.

Meantime, Taliban militants in online statements have claimed killing over a dozen security personnel since Friday in the war-torn country. Enditem
