2nd LD: Israeli PM vows to capture Palestinian gunners in deadly shooting

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to capture the Palestinians who shot and killed two Israelis, a father and son, near Hebron in the West Bank on Friday.
"We will get to these loathsome murderers and bring them to justice like we have done in the past," Netanyahu said.
A 40-year-old Israeli and his 18-year-old son were killed in a shooting attack on route 60, near the Jewish settlement of Otniel south of Hebron, Israeli police and military said.
Two other Israelis, a woman and a teenager, were injured, Israeli emergency services said.
Although the police said earlier that a driving vehicle opened fire at the Israeli car, security forces now believe one perpetrator ambushed the vehicle on the side of the road and then fled the scene in a car driven by a collaborator.
Security forces have carried out a massive search for the perpetrators in the area, setting up roadblocks and placing the nearby Palestinian village of Yata, 13 km south of Hebron, under closure, a military source told Xinhua.
Also on Friday, a 22-year-old Palestinian died one day after being shot and critically injured by Israeli soldiers during clashes in Hebron, Israeli and Palestinian media outlets reported.
The report did not receive official confirmation from Israeli security forces as of press time.
Twelve Israelis have died up to Friday's attack in the weeks-long wave of violence between Israelis and Palestinians, in deadly stabbing, shooting and vehicular attacks perpetrated by Palestinians.
On the other side, more than 80 Palestinians were killed in recent weeks, in clashes with Israeli security forces during protests or after allegedly attempting to carry out attacks.
The current wave of violence was sparked in September due to the controversy over the status of al-Aqsa mosque compound in east Jerusalem, a site holy to both Muslim and Jewish worshippers.
The violence has since spread throughout the Palestinian territories and across Israel, in what some have charged might be a third intifada, or an armed uprising of the Palestinians. Endit
