Iceland's fish catch down 25.6 pct in October

Iceland's fish catch decreased by 25.6 percent year-on-year in October 2015, according to figures issued on Friday by Statistics Iceland.

The total fish caught in October amounted to 72,097 tonnes, including 41,112 tonnes of demersal catch and 27,751 tonnes of pelagic catch, and some shellfish, figures showed.

The total volume in October this year decreased by 24,872 tonnes of fish compared with that of October last year.

The total fish caught in the period between November 2014 and October 2015 was 1,309,241 tonnes, an increase of 21.6 percent compared with 1,076,839 tonnes of fish caught in the previous 12-month period. Endit
