Seven baby corpses have been found in the southern German city of Wallenfels, German investigators announced Friday noon.

According to Police Bavaria, a local resident of Wallenfels found the baby remains in an apartment on Thursday afternoon and then she made the emergency call.

The police received the call at around 16:00 local time on Thursday and then found a number of baby corpses in a room of the apartment.

The former resident of the apartment is a 45-year-old woman. But she could not yet be met and interviewed at the moment, according to a statement of the police.

The forensic examinations run since Friday morning, and it will take some time to complete due to partly poor condition, the statement noted.

A result is not to be expected before early next week, according to investigators. Endit
