Zambian FA chief urges team to be focused after beating Sudan

The head of Zambia's soccer governing body on Thursday urged the national team to remain focused after beating Sudan in a World Cup qualifier match.

The Chipolopolo edged Sudan 1-0 on Wednesday night during a 2018 World Cup qualifier match, with the goal coming in the 27th minute through striker Winstone Kalengo. The two teams will meet for the second leg match on Sunday in Ndola city on the Copperbelt Province.

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Kalusha Bwalya said, "Chipolopolo has done us proud. We got the result we worked so hard for. We have to finish the game at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday."

The winner of this tie over two legs will progress to the third round where 20 teams will be divided into five groups of four teams to play home-and-away round-robin matches. The winners of each group will qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The 2012 Africa Cup of Nations winners have never qualified for the World Cup. Endit
