Eurozone industrial production down by 0.3 pct

Xinhua, November 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

Industrial production in the eurozone fell by 0.3 percent in September compared with August, according to data published by the European Union's statistical office Eurostat on Thursday.

Some analysts have said the slowdown might link to the global manufacturing slump.

Figures showed the decrease is due to production of durable consumer goods falling by 3.9 percent, non-durable consumer goods by 1.0 percent and capital goods by 0.3 percent, while production of intermediate goods remained stable and energy rose by 1.2 percent.

Compared with last year, industrial production in September increased 1.7 percent in the euro area and by 1.8 percent in the EU.

Among member states, the largest decreases in industrial production were registered in Ireland, Lithuania and Greece, and the highest increases in Croatia, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Endit
