Raptors handed third straight loss by Knicks

Xinhua, November 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

Toronto Raptors lost their third consecutive game in a 111-109 loss to New York Knicks on Tuesday night NBA action.

After starting the season with five straight wins, Toronto now sits at 5-3 on the season.

"You got to make your breaks in this game," said Raptors head coach Dwane Casey following the game. "They did tonight, we didn't, especially down the stretch."

After trailing for most of the game, Raptors had an opportunity to tie the game in the final minute, but forward DeMar DeRozan's layup rimmed out, ultimately leading to the team's demise.

Raptors were missing two starter DeMarre Carroll and reserve Terrence Ross during the game. Carroll is battling plantar fasciitis in his right foot, an injury that has caused him to miss all three losses so far.

Meanwhile, Ross' injury was announced during the game by the team as a ligament injury in his left thumb that will require a minimum of two weeks to heal.

"We got to get all men on board right now," said Casey. "Guys on deck, guys that are in uniform are going to be ready to play. We can't think ."

With 76 games remaining on the season, Casey is not concerned about the short-term results and believes the team will find themselves in a position to succeed when it matters.

"We need to find a balance between offense and defense, but it's early," said Casey on the inconsistencies on the offensive end. "Once we get healthy again and get our (offensive) mojo back again, I like where our defense is right now."

The team will look to bounce back as they fly to Philadelphia to play the Sixers on Wednesday.   Endit
