Rio prepares for next wave of Olympic test events

Xinhua, November 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

An international boccia tournament will start the next wave of Rio 2016 test events this week, organizers said on Tuesday.

The event will feature 22 para-athletes from Brazil, Britain, Portugal, Russia and Israel. It will run from November 12 to 14 at the Riocentro Pavilion 4 in Rio de Janeiro's west.

"Rio 2016 will use the event to assess various operations, with a special focus on the transport of athletes," the official Rio 2016 website said.

"Arrivals and departures services - featuring airport and hotel transfers - will be closely analyzed, as will anti-doping operations, volunteer activities and the playing surface.

The Rio 2016 accessibility team will play a key role in the event, organizers added.  Endi
