Shandong Luneng forward Aloisio dos Santos Goncalves was presented the Golden Boot award for the 2015 Chinese Super League (CSL) season here on Tuesday, for having been top scorer at the league.
The 27-year-old Brazilian scored 22 goals from 28 matches while helping Luneng finish third place in the 16-team league. His compatriot Goulart (Guangzhou Evergrande, 19 goals) received the Silver Boot as runner-up for the most goals in the season. Dejan Damjanovic (Beijing Guo'an, 16 goals) had the Bronze Boot.
Goulart, who played a pivotal role in Evergrande's successful title defense, also picked up the Golden Ball award.
China international striker Wu Lei, who scored 14 goals with Shanghai SIPG in 2015, won the Best Local Scorer award for the third consecutive year.
"It's a pity I missed several opportunities this year, and there is still room for improvement," said Wu.
Foreign players have swept the Golden Boot award for eight years since Li Jinyu became the last Chinese player who claimed the award. Li scored 26 goals in 2006, which now looks like a mission impossible for local players.
As more and more big names such as Goulart and Dario Conca are lured to China, local strikers have to struggle for a place in the starting lineup. Endi
