Palestine demands end to "Judaizing" Palestinian cities

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry on Thursday demanded an end to what it described as the "Judaization of east Jerusalem and the southern West Bank city of Hebron" by Israel.
In a press statement, the ministry condemned Israel's measures against the Palestinians, particularly residents of the old cities of Jerusalem and Hebron who "suffer settlers' provocations on a daily basis."
It called on the international community to intervene, saying silence would only encourage Israel to resume its plans to Judiaze the two Palestinian cities.
The statement accuses Israel of killing prospects for peace.
"Continuos raiding of al-Aqsa mosque and new calls by Jewish groups to storm al-Aqsa take place with the support of the Israeli government and under the protection of the Israeli military and security forces," the statement said.
The statement considered these moves a continuation of the "systematic Judaization policy of Jerusalem's old city which includes extra-judicial killings, collective punishments, besieging the city's economy by imposing taxes and fines on Palestinian merchants."
The latest wave of violence between Palestinians and Israel, which is entering its second month, started in mid-September in East Jerusalem's flashpoint al-Aqsa mosque compound and spread throughout Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Since the beginning of October, 75 Palestinians have been killed in clashes with Israeli securities; 10 Israelis have died in stabbing or car-ramming attacks carried out by Palestinians. Endit
