Volvo Cars reports global sales hike in Oct.

Automaker Volvo Cars on Tuesday reported a global sales hike in October as dealers in the United States had an especially strong month.

The company sold nearly 46,000 cars in all markets, a 12.6- percent increase on the same month in 2014, Volvo said in a press release.

Sales in the United States soared 87 percent compared to October last year to 7,422 units in total, making it the carmaker's biggest single country market during October.

Sales in Sweden rose by 9.0 percent compared to the same period last year and brought up the figures for Western Europe, which were up 4.0 percent.

Sales in China saw a 2.0-percent increase compared to same month in 2014.

Volvo sold 392,000 units during the first 10 months of 2015, a 3.0-percent climb on the same period last year. Endit
