Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic said on Tuesday that no armed conflicts would occur in the Balkans if Germany closed its borders to refugees and migrants.

"However, Germany cannot close its border," Milanovic said, adding "Croatia will always do it much faster than Germany."

Meanwhile, Croatia opened on Tuesday a new winter reception center for refugee in Slavonski Brod, eastern Croatia. The center has the capacity of receiving 5,000 people with heated tents.

First train with around 1,000 refugees arrived in the new center in the morning from Opatovac, near the border with Serbia. Another train expected to arrive with 1,000 refugees in the evening from the Serbian border town of Sid.

A total of 315,955 refugees and migrants have entered Croatia since September this year. Enditem
