BMW achieves revenue of 22.3 bln euros in Q3

German automaker BMW Group on Tuesday reported its sales volume worldwide and revenue in the third quarter this year rose to record highs.

According to BMW's statistics, sales of BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brand vehicles worldwide increased by 6.9 percent to 545,062 units compared to the same period last year, and its group revenue climbed by 14 percent to 22.3 billion euros (24.5 billion U.S. dollars).

As a result, sales volume of the Bavarian group in the first nine months rose by 7.5 percent to 1,644,810 units and the group revenue grew by 16.4 percent to 67.2 billion euros.

From January to September, sales of BMW and MINI vehicles in Asia grew by 4.2 percent to 503,160 units, including an increase in sales of 1.9 percent to 342,920 units on the Chinese mainland.

"We continue to chart a course of profitable growth, with reported figures continuing their upward trend in the first nine months of the year," noted Harald Krueger, chairman of the board of management. Endit
