Abducted Maltese man returns to Malta from Libya

Xinhua, November 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

Noel Sciberras, the Maltese man who was abducted in Libya, has returned safely to Malta on Monday night.

Deeply shaken by this experience, the man told the local media that he had not been harmed by his captors but he was not allowed to communicate with anyone.

Sciberras, who is a director of a company which administers car parks, was held by a militia group for 47 days after he was captured nearby his home. He was released last week after a special force in Libya succeeded to locate him and arrest his kidnappers.

It is being said that a ransom of 5 million U.S. dollars was demanded for his release but it has not yet been confirmed whether this payment was made. Endit
