The visiting Kenyan cricket team beat Namibia by 92 runs in the ICC World Cricket League contest played on Monday at the Wanderer's Cricket Ground in the capital city of Windhoek.
The East Africans opted to bat first and scored 215 in their 50 overs. Despite losing a few wickets early on, Kenya's batsmen kept the scoreboard ticking, diverging the pressure created by the Namibian bowlers, Bernard Scholtz, Craig Williams and Sarel Burger, who had reduced the visitors to 68 for 5 by the 19th over.
Notably Kenyan batsmen, Nelson Odhiambo's persistence and Lucas Olioch's incredible bat skills (33 off 32 balls) ensured Kenya set Namibia a target of 216 for victory.
Namibia had a cautious start to its chase, knocking the first six overs around for just 22 runs.
The left-arm pacer Uloch broke the partnership by removing Baard, and initiated the Namibian downfall.
Six more wickets tumbled in the next 13.4 overs to put a break on the chase, and Namibia found itself struggling at 57 for 7 in the 20th over.
Namibian batsmen could not contain the East Africans bowling prowess and only amassed 123 runs in the 39th over and thus ended the innings for the hosts.
In the end the Namibia lost by 92 runs, while Kenya picked up two crucial points from the match which ensured them the top spot in the tournament rankings.
Initially the match was to take place on Sunday but due to the wet outfield it was rescheduled to the reserve day. Endi
