Singapore stocks close 0.85 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 25.15 points, or 0.85 percent, to close at 2,999.56.

A total of 1.31 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 880.3 million Singapore dollars (628.8 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 265 to 140, while 523 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 23.94 points, or 0.80 percent, to close at 2,974.41 on Monday. Enditem
