Palestinians killed, wounded in latest alleged stabbing attack in West Bank

Israeli troops shot two knife-wielding Palestinians on Monday morning, killing one of them and wounding the other, after the two allegedly tried to stab a soldier at a checkpoint in West Bank, police said.
Police spokeswoman Luba Samri said the incident occurred as the suspects, armed with knives, arrived at the Jalameh checkpoint, west of the Palestinian city of Jenin.
In a separate statement, a military spokesperson said that soldiers approached the suspects, who were standing in a gas station adjacent to the checkpoint. "One of the suspects then attempted to stab a soldier with a knife and was shot.
"The second suspect was apprehended," the spokesperson said.
The incident came as Israeli soldiers were being increasingly accused of using excessive force to quell a month-long wave of violence. The hostilities have seen the death of 11 Israelis and at least 73 Palestinians. Endit
