Senior legislators vow to work for China's development goal

Xinhua, November 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese top legislators have promised to work for the smooth realization of the nation's development goal for next five years.

The National People's Congress and its Standing Committee will give full play to their roles and fully implement the spirit of the fifth plenary session of the 18th Communist Party of China Central Committee, which approved proposals on the 13th five-year plan for national economic and social development from 2016 to 2020, according to a meeting of the top legislature.

The meeting was presided over by Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee.

Legislatures at all levels should organize activities to learn the spirit, according to a statement released on Saturday.

The top legislature should be prepared to review and amend the plan, it said. Endi
