A five-year-old child was killed in a serious bus accident on Friday afternoon on a motorway in central Germany, the Focus Online reported.

Several were injured, some of them seriously, as a coach bus with 59 children and adolescents onboard overturned.

The bus was traveling from Austria in the direction towards the German city of Dresden, before it drove up the embankment during an overtaking manoeuvre and then overturned on a motorway near the German city of Erfurt, the report said.

Local police were quoted as saying that it was a tour group from the German state of Saxony and Austria in the bus. Endit
