Emotional David Gilbert defeated Thepchaiya Un-Nooh of Thailand 9-5 in semifinals of 2015 World Snooker International Championship here in Daqing.

The first phase of the semifinal witnessed a 3-3 tie before Gilbert won two frames in a row. The English soon enlarged the advantage to 8-3 after the break with hitting a 112-point break in the 10th frame. Un-Nooh, who had consecutive four 6-5 records in the previous rounds, cut the deficit down to 5-8. With both players making mistakes in the 14th frame, Un-Nooh made a snooker for himself and lost by 42-70.

"Too much pressure, I never get to the final before so it' s a big game for me," said the disappointed Thai, "today I am not confident, if I keep concentrate, I' ll play well."

As another dark horse of the championship, Gilbert showed a little emotion when he was asked what his motivation is.

"At first it was my granddad actually, I started to play snooker at around 11 and we played every week," said Gilbert, "I got married this July, I am playing for my wife."

"I wasn' t (emotional) at first, but you mentioned my grandfather and it reminded me of all the people in my hometown who cheer me up." said the finalist.

Gilbert will face the winner between Mark Selby and John Higgins on Sunday night. Endi
