China's Hushen 300 index futures closed mixed on Friday, with the contract for November, the most actively traded, up 0.08 percent to close at 3,439.2 points.

BANGKOK -- The Stock Exchange of Thailand index moved up 4.90 points, or 0.35 percent to close at 1,394.94 points on Friday.
Some 7.21 billion shares worth 38.83 billion baht (about 1.09 billion U.S. dollars) changed hands.

JAKARTA -- Indonesian shares closed lower by 16.84 points, or 0.38 percent, to a level of 4,455.18 on Friday.
Some 258,676 transactions were booked, involving 4.66 billion shares worth 5.62 trillion rupiah (about 412.01 million U.S. dollars).

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market mixed lower here on Friday.
The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index was at 1,665.71 points, down 1.27 points or 0.08 percent, and the Emas was at 11,573.90, up 0.74 of a point or 0.01 percent.

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks fell 179.90 points, or 0.79 percent, to close on Friday at 22,640.04 points.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 22,612.56 and 22,847.16. Turnover totaled 69.33 billion HK dollars (8.95 billion U.S. dollars).

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in southern Vietnam, closed at 607.37 points on Friday, up 2.17 points, or 0.36 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.
About 91.228 million shares worth 2.039 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (93.17 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 119 stocks went up, 112 stocks fell down, while 63 stocks remained unchanged.

MANILA -- Philippine shares closed 0.77 percent lower on Thursday.
The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index decreased by 54.99 points to 7,134.26. The all-share index went down by 24.11 points, or 0.58 percent, to 4,119.28.

TAIPEI -- Taiwan's share prices closed lower Friday with the weighted index down 16.77 points, or 0.2 percent, to close at 8,554.31, according to news reaching here from Taipei.

TOKYO -- Tokyo shares ended Friday higher on the Bank of Japan's decision to hold off on more monetary easing and domestic companies posted broadly upbeat earnings reports.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 147.39 points, or 0.78 percent, from Thursday at 19,083.10, a roughly two-month closing high.
