Coca-Cola to end production in Slovakia

Xinhua, October 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

Coca-Cola HBC (Hellenic Bottling Company) Slovakia is to close down production in their plant in Western Slovakia in 2016 due to cost cutting measures.

"The end of operation in the production plant in Luka is a result of cost optimization and synergy with the rest of the production capacities and logistical processes in this region. The central storage and the logistics center for Slovakia will remain in Luka. However, we are considering that by the end of 2016 this will move to another location," the company said in a statement released on Thursday.

According to Coca-Cola HBC, 107 workers whose positions are linked to the production plant will lose their jobs.

The company said it would still remain in the Slovak market in other operational capacities.

"We will continue to invest and develop other departments of the company such as business, logistics, distribution and our other activities in Slovakia," concluded the statement. Endit
