Tokyo stocks lose ground in early trading on Wall St.'s losses

Xinhua, October 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tokyo shares lost ground in early trading Tuesday as investors opted to lock in gains made Monday, as they were uninspired following U.S. shares' retreat overnight and lacking in further incentives.

At 9:15 a.m. local time, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 48.43 points, or 0.26 percent, from Monday to 18,898.69, while the broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange dropped 5.30 points, or 0.34 percent, at 1,553.69.

Decliners were led by iron and steel, mining and oil and coal products. Endit
