Czech considers aid to Slovenia coping with refugees: Defense Minister

Xinhua, October 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Czech Republic is considering to send a medical team, lorries or field kitchens to help Slovenia in coping with a large number of incoming refugees, said Czech Defense Minister Martin Stropnicky after a government meeting on Monday.

Stropnicky said they are in contact with their Slovenian colleagues and they believe they can help Slovenia by sending the healthcare team, building humanitarian camp, or sending some vehicles like lorries, maybe even the field kitchens which they have sent to Hungary.

He said Czech cabinet will discuss the concrete ways of help next week.

Czech has sent 21 soldiers with 10 field kitchens, five lorries and engineering equipment to Hungary earlier this month to protect the borders of the Schengen area in the country. A number of 50 Czech policemen are to leave for Hungary in assisting the Schengen border protection as from Nov. 1. Enditem
