World Championship title winner Stuart Bingham crashed out in a 2-6 loss to Chinese player Yu Delu at the first round of World Snooker International Championship here in Daqing.

Yu started tonight' s first frame with a 72-point break and established a 3-0 advantage. The world champion managed to win two back before Yu answered with 66-57 and 66-40. The last frame left Bingham with no choices but to make snookers. He dropped the cue ball twice before offering to shake hands.

"The 3-0 lead made me feel that I do have a chance and he is not unconquerable," said the happy home winner, "The victory tonight made me more confident to face the following matches"

Home favorite Ding Junhui beat Craig Steadman with same score on the other table tonight.

"I felt like I was waiting to win with both of us making a lot of mistakes tonight," Ding commented on his stable victory tonight.

"The Wizard" John Higgins defeat Zhao Xintong also with a 6-2 record. The latter fought back in the sixth frame with the highest break so far --142 points. But the last two frames witnessed no surprise.

Tian Pengfei, who upset defending champion Ricky Walden in the qualifying round, had his second victory over another home player Cao Yupeng with 6-2. The second highest ranked player of China, Liang Wenbo, will meet Tian in a China derby after defeating Andrew Higginson 6-3 today. Endi
