Mozambique draws Zambia 1-1, failing to qualify

Not much to the surprise to the majority of Mozambican supporters, the Mozambican national soccer team, the Mambas, on Sunday in Maputo drew with Zambia 1-1 at the Machava stadium, the last game of qualification to the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN 2016) in Rwanda.

The Mozambican squad had been losing since the first half of the game, having scored the goal of honor that drew the match at the last 10 minutes after a penalty following a ball in hand of a Zambian player inside the penalty area.

"The players did the best, we wanted more but unfortunately we did not succeed," regretted Mano Mano, the Mozambican coach.

Mozambique never beat Zambia in their head-to-head history. Endit
