Manager Tim Sherwood was sacked on Sunday by English Premier League side Aston Villa after eight months in charge.

Villa suffered their six straight loss on Saturday after a 2-1 defeat to Swansea on Saturday, dropping to 19th in the standings.

The club said in a statement: "The board believes the results on the pitch were simply not good enough and that a change is imperative."

Sherwood, who was appointed in February, led the team to the FA Cup final and the 17th-placed finish last season. Endit
