Air strike kills 12 Taliban in S. Afghanistan

Some 12 militants have been killed as warplanes pounded a Taliban hideout in the southern Helmand province on Sunday, an army spokesman in the province said.

"Acting upon intelligence report the warplanes of army pounded Taliban hideout in Baba Ji area this morning, killing 12 insurgents on the spot," Brigadier Mohammad Rasoul Zazai told Xinhua.

Three more insurgents sustained injuries in the air raid, the official added.

The Taliban militants haven't made any comment. Enditem
