Chinese vice premier meets IUCN Director-General

Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang on Sunday met with the Director-General of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Inger Anderson and representatives who attended the first World Forum on Ecosystem Governance in Beijing.

In the Great Hall of the People, Wang said the Chinese government has attached great importance to environmental protection.

China is willing to enhance cooperation with the IUCN on the governance of global ecosystem, said Wang, adding that he hopes the forum will fully play the role of an international platform so as to promote the global sustainable development.

The first World Forum on Ecosystem Governance, held on Sunday, was co-hosted by the IUCN, the IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management, the Chinese State Forestry Administration, and the Beijing Municipal Government. Endi
