Portugal Fashion is celebrating 20 years of Portuguese fashion design with its 37th show this weekend in Lisbon and Porto.

The 37th Portugal Fashion Celebration featured the 2016 spring/summer collection with 22 different shows at several emblematic buildings including the Porto Colosseum, Crystal Palace, the Silo Auto Park and the Serpa Pinto barracks in Porto.

Top designers include Anabela Baldaque, Miguel Vieira, Katty Xiomara, Fatima Lopes, Luis Buchinho, Nuno Baltazar and Carlos Gil.

The event began with a concert featuring Brazilian pianist Marcelo Bratke at the Convento do Beato, in Lisbon.

The first edition of the Portugal Fashion took place in July of 1995, titled "Portugal Fashion 95 - Young at Porto Fashion."

Over the last two decades, Portugal Fashion represented cosmopolitanism, creativity and aesthetic sophistication.

This year's theme expressed the importance of modernism and commitment to promoting national image. Enditem
