Chinese firm donates grains to flood victims in Nigeria

The Chinese Geological Company (CGC) on Saturday donated 380 bags of assorted grains to flood victims in Gusau area of northwest Nigeria's Zamfara Statr.
The recent flood disaster was caused by heavy rainfall that led to the death of seven people in the state.
The heavy downpour also destroyed not less than 500 houses and properties worth millions of naira.
Wu Jie, the Deputy Managing Director of the company, while presenting the relief materials to the victims, said the gesture was to show concern and love to them.
Wu said the relief materials include: 140 bags of millet, 140 bags of guinea corn and 100 bags of rice.
Responding, the state government commended the company for the show of love and care toward the victims.
Abdullahi Shinkafi, the Secretary to the State Government who received the materials on behalf of the state government, said the assistance was timely and would further strengthen the cordial relationship between the people Zamfara and the company as well as the bilateral relations between Nigeria and China.
