China-Australia film festival kicks off in Sydney

Butter your popcorn, the China-Australia relationship has become an extended feature for the silver screen.

The official China-Australia film festival kicked off in Sydney on Friday night with a memorandum of understanding for a series of feature films, signed between respective Australian and Shanghai-based production companies.

High-quality talent and world leading production companies in the small Australian industry coupled with China's large and still growing market make the partnership and obvious choice to bring the stories to an international audience, Deputy Director-General Liang Ge of China's Film Bureau said.

The film festival lasts until Oct. 25. Endit
