Liu spoke highly of the contribution made by Chao, an outstanding Chinese-American, to the China-U.S. friendship. They exchanged views on China-U.S. ties.

President Xi Jinping's state visit to the United States last month was successful, Liu said, stressing China is willing to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the United States in various fields so as to benefit the two peoples as well as the international community.
