Slovakia ready to offer field hospitals, personnel help to migrants in Slovenia

Slovakia's Armed Forces are able to provide part of their field hospitals and medical personnel by assisting to Slovenia with the inflow of migrants, confirmed Slovak Defence Ministry spokesperson Martina Ballekova on Thursday.

If Slovenia asks for help from Slovakia, the ministry stands ready to dispatch two general practitioners, a general or trauma surgeon and another medicine specialists to Slovenia. As many as 15 Slovak medical personnel including nurses could be sent to Slovenia.

"Our military health care personnel have a wealth of experience from crisis situations, because they were previously deployed in the ISAF operation in Afghanistan. This is why we've decided to help Slovenia to address the immigration crisis if Slovenia seeks assistance," added Ballekova.

Slovenia is struggling to ration the influx of thousands of migrants who are arriving at the Croatian-Slovenian border every day. Endit
