BiH security minister vows to crack down on organized crimes

Xinhua, October 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

Dragan Mektic, Security Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), on Thursday vowed to crack down on organized crimes, such as drug trafficking.

BiH is faced with serious problems in fighting against organized crimes, such as drug trafficking, said Mektic during a speech.

It was estimated that in Sarajevo alone, some 20 kg illegal drugs were sold and consumed daily, he added.

Law enforcement departments needed to devote more resources in cracking down on drug trafficking, especially those big dealers, said the BiH security minister.

He hoped the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) will do its best to deal with organized crimes.

SIPA is one of the main law enforcement agencies in BiH to fight against organized crimes and corruption. Endit
