Iceland's unemployment stands at 3.8 pct in Sept.

Iceland's unemployment rate stood at 3.8 percent in September 2015, registering a year-on-year decrease of 0.3 percent, according to a labor force survey issued Wednesday by Statistics Iceland.

The survey showed the number of people in the labor force market in September 2015 was 188,400, of which 7,100 people were unemployed.

Seasonally-adjusted data showed that among 188,400, the number of unemployed people amounted to 7,600, down by 300 from August. The unemployment rate was 4 percent in September compared to 4.1 percent in August.

Seasonal adjustment is a statistical method for removing the seasonal component of a time series that is used when analyzing non-seasonal trends. Endit
