Two local officials under graft probe

Two officials from Shanghai and Jiangsu province respectively are under investigation on suspicion of corruption, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said on Wednesday.

A procuratorate in Shanghai has decided to investigate Lu Jin, deputy head of Shanghai's Jinshan District, on suspicion of taking bribes.

Jiangsu provincial procuratorate has decided to investigate Zhang Xiong, president of Nanjing Sport Institute, on suspicion of embezzlement of public funds.

Both of them have been placed under "coercive measures" which include summons by force, bail, residential surveillance, detention and arrest.

Their cases are under investigation. Enditem
