Int'l textile, garment expo opens in Vietnam's HCM City

The 15th Vietnam International Textile & Garment Industry Exhibition 2015 kicked off here Wednesday, with the participation of over 200 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions.

At the four-day event, firms from China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Germany, Turkey, the UK, and Vietnam are showing their latest garment and textile products as well as related machines and technologies at 300 booths.

From Oct. 22-23, garment and textile seminars will take place on the sidelines of the exhibition.

They are supported by the Vietnam Cotton and Spinning Association, the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association, the Central Institute for Economic Management, the Vietnam National Productivity Institute and the Agency of Foreign Trade under the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The 14th Vietnam International Textile & Garment Industry Exhibition 2014 hosted over 170 companies from 10 countries and regions.

Vietnam made total garment and textile export turnovers of nearly 17.1 billion U.S. dollars in the first nine months of this year, up 10.6 percent on-year, said the country's General Statistics Office. Enditem
