If Germany closes borders, Croatia, others will too: Croatian FM

Xinhua, October 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

If Germany closes its border, Croatia would do the same, Croatia's Foreign and European Affairs Minister Vesna Pusic said Tuesday.

"Should Germany close the border, there will be a butterfly effect. Namely Austria and Slovenia will close their borders too. In that case, Croatia will close the border," she was quoted as saying by Croatian News Agency Hina.

Croatia could provide for 5,000 people, she said, adding: "We cannot provide for more than that."

Croatia would let all refugees pass through the country, but it would have to be a joint effort by all relevant counties such as Austria, Slovenia, Germany, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece and Turkey, she added.

Pusic said Hungary would help a lot if it re-opened its borders and allowed people to pass through. Endit
