China's top political advisor vows closer ties with Vietnam

China's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng met with Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Bui Thi Thanh here on Tuesday.

Hailing the traditional friendship between the two sides, Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said leaders of both countries had met several times this year and had reached important consensus on improving all-round strategic cooperation.

China values its ties with Vietnam, and is ready to enhance strategic coordination with the country and facilitate win-win cooperation in all areas, Yu said.

The CPPCC hopes to cement exchanges with the VFF, share governance experience and boost people-to-people friendship between the two countries, he said.

Bui Thi Thanh said the Vietnamese party and government treasured the relations with China, pledging to boost closer cooperation between the VFF and the CPPCC.

CPPCC Vice Chairman Ma Biao held talks with Bui Thi Thanh earlier on Tuesday on bilateral win-win cooperation. Endi
